Last few months have not been easy for Kohli and fans. He stepped down from the T20 captainship and wished his desire to continue his leading India in ODIs and Tests.
Later, reports came that he was sacked from the ODI captainship. Statements showed a conflict of interests between the former captain and BCCI president Saurav Ganguly.
Virat Kohli was then sacked from the ODI captainship and Rohit Sharma was appointed to lead the side.
What actually happened?
Kohli contradicted Ganguly’s comments that he had been asked by the BCCI president to not give up T20I captaincy.
“He also revealed he was informed about his sacking as ODI captain only ninety minutes before the decision was made official.
The selectors wanted to have only one white-ball captain for India which led to them removing Kohli as the ODI skipper”.
This conflict of statements sparked a hint of collision between the board and the former captain.
Kohli left Test captaincy last week after India’s crunching defeat 2-1 against South Africa.
Show Cause Notice!
Soon after he left test captaincy, there were reports that BCCI president Saurav Ganguly has planned to issue a show-cause notice to Virat Kohli after his presser.
Saurav Ganguly has dismissed any such reports.
Kohli The Batter
Well, Kohli is struggling to find his consistency and form as the former captain has failed to score a century in the last 2 years.
We all want Kohli to bounce back and score runs for India and win matches. We must not forget World Cup 2023 is coming and we all India to do well.
