BCCI anti corruption unit has helped filed a complain against the offer made through Instagram.

Rajagopal Sathish has filed a complaint in the Bengaluru police station following the approach from the bookie named ‘Bunny Anand’. He was approached on January 3rd 2022 with around INR 40 lakhs (USD 54000 approximately). Sathish filed a complaint in the Jaynagar police station after being approached. It was also mentioned that he politely declined the offer through the chat.
R. Sathish is 40 years old and represents Chepauk Super Gillies in the Tamil premier league. He is active in the Tamil Nadu premier league. He was part of Mumbai Indians in the years 2010 and 2011. After Mumbai Indians, he joined KXIP and KKR in the years 2013 and 2016 respectively.

Being approached by a bookie is nothing new in IPL. We have seen players being approached earlier too and for which BCCI has made stricter rules. The players need to report any offer even if they don’t respond to it.

IPL has always been an easy target for the bookies and has always been in the shadows of ‘match fixing’ and ‘spot fixing’. We have seen CSK and RR falling into the consequences of ‘fixing’ scandals.
