The winning streak continues as World No.1 Iga Swiatek wins her 35th match in the French Open 2022 finals against Coco Guaff
Iga Swiatek won her second Roland Garros title with a resounding victory over American teenager Coco Gauff.
Swiatek, who turned 21 on Tuesday, reinforced her dominance in women’s tennis with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Guaff. She has now won 35 consecutive matches in six tournaments, tying Venus Williams‘ record from the year 2000 for the longest unbeaten streak in the century.
“Two years ago, winning this title was something amazing. Honestly, I wouldn’t expect it ever. But this time I feel like I worked hard and did everything to get here, even though it was really tough,” Swiatek said in the post-match interview.
Swiatek won the French Open in 2020 as well, aged just 19 years.
Gauff, who is only 18 years old, reached her first Grand Slam final, although she struggled to find her game in the first set, losing 4-0 before ultimately breaking through.

Despite losing against Swiatek, Gauff put up a tremendous performance, especially at the second set’s opening, proving that she is a rising tennis star with many more fierce matches to come.
Sunday, French Open 2022 Finals Rafael Nadal VS Casper Ruud

The men’s final for the French Open 2022 is set to take place on Sunday at Roland Garros in Paris for The Mousquetaires Cup, where Rafael Nadal is going against Casper Ruud.
Nadal reached the Grand Slam final after his semi-final match with Alexander Zverev ended in him winning automatically as Zverev suffered a major injury during the game. While Ruud on the other hand defeated Marin Cilic in the semi-finals to reach the finale.
If Nadal goes on to win the Grand Slam, it could mark a record-breaking 22nd title for the Spaniard.
