J.K Simmons is all set to come back as Commissioner Jim Gordon in the new DCEU movie, Batgirl. He was seen in a detective-style trench coat and a hat on the sets of Batgirl. The movie is currently being filmed in Glasgow, under the direction of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. J.K Simmons has previously played Jim Gordon in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Now he is back as Jim Gordon, father of Barbara, played by Leslie Grace.

Jim Gordon’s Fresh Look:

J.K Simmons has a fresh young look in the movie suggesting that the story will be in flashback. A young actress was also spotted with him who is likely to play the role of young Barbara. He was seen kissing a lady likely to be Barbara’s mother in the movie. Not many details about the movie ‘Batgirl’ is revealed yet. It is likely to focus on the past of Jim Gordon and the origins of Barbara and her transition to a superhero.

Batgirl’s Cast:

In the Batgirl movie, the DC fans are in for lots of surprises. Along with J.K Simmons’ return as Gordon, the movie will also see the return of Michael Keaton as Batman, almost after three decades. The movie will feature Brendan Fraser as a supervillain, Firefly. Transgender actress, Ivory Aquino is also all set to play the role of Alysia Yeoh, Barbara’s best friend in the movie.

This is not the first time J.K Simmons is making a comeback in a superhero movie. Earlier, he made a comeback as a famous Marvel Comics character, J. Jonah Jameson, in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home.

The fans are excited about seeing more of J.K Simmons as Jim Gordon with the release of Batgirl. The release date for the movie is not yet fixed but it is most likely to release later this year. The movie is likely to be released on HBO Max.
