Ralf Schumacher the former Formula One racer and younger brother of the seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher suggests Silver Arrows go with Sebastian Vettel if Lewis Hamilton decides to retire.
The whole Formula One World erupted when Max Verstappen won his maiden World title and Lewis Hamilton who was looking to make history was left heartbroken. With these situations, we can clearly see a divide in the F1 world. Many experts and former racers have come up to speak on these matters but the fact of the matter is What is Lewis thinking? Will he retire?
With just a step away from creating history Lewis was left heartbroken. The last moment safety car which lead Max to overtake him in the last lap took away all the glory which was awaiting for Hamilton to grab the end of the line. The veteran who was looking for his record-breaking 8th World title was left grieving.
Lewis’ last media interview was the post-race interview at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where the veteran congratulated Max and thanked his team for their support. With the deafening silence from Lewis, the fans and the experts have already started to speculate about his retirement and with this, the talk of the town is Who will replace Lewis?
Sebastian Vettel a four-time World Champion is one such name that comes up. Vettel had a very mediocre season with the Aston Martin. Vettel finished 12th on the 2021 Driver’s Standing whereas his team finished 7th on the 2021 Constructor Standing. Although it was Sebastian’s maiden season with the Aston Martin it surely does not do justice with the history he has.
Ralf Schumacher the former Toyota driver believes that Vettel’s experience sets him aside from all the racers on the grid. He believes Vettel has got that experience and Mercedes has got the engine which would make him a great option for consideration.
“Vettel has the experience and – still – has the speed. In addition, he knows the Mercedes car and especially the engine. Although I believe that the concept of the Aston Martin car is also very similar to that of Mercedes”Ralf Schumacher to German SkySports
Ralf even points out the power shift in the Aston Martin camp. With Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer gone there will be a vacuum in the team camp. Vettel’s relation with the team principal was of key importance. The German even believes with the change in the team dynamics the Silver Arrows is the place for Four-time World Champion Vettel.
With all the drama and suspense the 2022 season is already brewing we all know there are many things that will get unveiled in the coming days. Many questions will come up again and again. Will Lewis Hamilton step down? or Will he try to take on the world for the last time?
