Klay Thompson was seen back in the game after a 2.5-year hiatus and scored a game-winning number of points for the Warriors. Thompson scored his season-high of 21 points leading the Golden State Warriors to victory against the Detroit Pistons with 102-86.
Thompson’s Knee Injury!
Klay Thompson suffered major injuries during the 2019 NBA Finals leading to an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee, due to which he wasn’t able to return to the floors since June 13th 2019. In November 2020 he injured himself again during a drink-up jumper practice in Southern California and had to go through surgery on his torn right Achilles.
Thompson’s Comeback in NBA.
Klay had the best comeback game one could wish for in his match against the Pistons. Klay had a rough start since his comeback this season since he started playing for the Golden State Warriors. He scored 7 points in the final two minutes of the first half which included the last moment 3 pointer.
Klay was questioned about his return to the game and a series of failed shots in the previous games followed by the conquering gameplay last Tuesday to which he replied:
I don’t care if I miss 100 shots in a row. I’m never going to stop shooting the ball. I love it too much and I work too hard not to.
Just to be able to run up-and-down the court again, shoot the ball, play defense, I had a great time tonight. Wish I had made a couple of more shots, but I just had a great time. That was fun.
Thompson had a really emotional yet majestic comeback in the game and we and the fans hope for more such gameplay in the coming games. Wishing him all the best!
