The world knows what happened with Novak Djokovic. Although he should probably have got vaccinated, the way he was deported and treated harshly never really made sense to a lot of people.
Nevertheless, the Australian Open is underway and we have already seen a few interesting, and a few one-sided encounters. Local lad Nick Kyrgios took on Liam Broady in his first round game and ended up winning without much trouble.
Kyrgios thrashed Broady in his first round clash
Kyrgios absolutely smashed Broady in straight sets by 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 and made his way into the second round. However, what he did after winning the contest caught everybody’s attention. Kyrgios drank beer offered by a spectator after the game’s completion.
Now, in the time of Omicron scare when strict rules are in play during the Australian Open, how can this act go unnoticed. A lot of people took to social media to ask the Australian authorities as to why are they silent on this issue.
Getting so close to the fans, drinking beer, taking pictures with them while Australia is battling through the Covid crisis is little hard to understand, that too from a local player. Kyrgios will take on Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in his next encounter.
