Russin President Vladimir Putin is rumored to be romantically involved with a Russian Politician and ex-gymnast Alina Kabaeva for over a decade now.
Who is Alina Kabaeva?
Kabaeva was born in Uzbekistan, then part of the Soviet Union, on May 12, 1983, and grew up in a sporty household. Marat Kabayev, Alina’s father was a professional Football player. Kabaeva was a member of United Russia’s State Duma from 2007 to 2014. Kabaeva was appointed chairwoman of the National Media Group’s board of directors in September 2014.
Following her father’s footsteps, Kabaeva started rhythmic gymnastics at the age of three, under coach Margarita Samuilovna. Kabaeva relocated to Moscow in her early teens, where her mother introduced her to Russian head coach Irina Viner.
Kabaeva, being 15 years old, won the European Championships in Portugal in 1998. Kabaeva was the Russian team’s youngest member at the time, competing among internationally famous teammates.
At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, in Australia, Kabaeva won a bronze followed by a gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Personal Life and relationship with Vladimir Putin
In 2004, Kabaeva was engaged to policeman David Museliani, but they separated in 2005. Kabaeva was engaged to Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Moskovsky Korrespondent in April 2008. The newspaper was shut down after the story was disputed.
In the later years, Alina’s relationship with the Russian Presiden became a matter of interest among the media and there were multiple reports and allegations of The President and Kabaeva having multiple children together.
Kabaeva claimed to have no children in 2013 but in 2015 another report of Kabaeva giving birth to a girl child at the VIP hospital of Saint Ann came up. Later in 2019, she reportedly gave birth to twin sons at the Kulakov maternity clinic in Moscow.
Although Kabaeva, called “Russia’s First Mistress,” has stated publicly that she is not the Russian president’s lover, rumors persist that the two are engaged, married, and even have a hidden family together.
Latest Public appearances
Kabaeva was pictured alongside members of the gymnastics team, despite the fact that she rarely makes public appearances. Kabaeva reportedly watched the gymnasts perform and offered tips, according to local media reports. This was the first time she appeared in public since Russia declared war on Ukraine.
Ekaterina Sirotina, the head coach of Russia’s junior national rhythmic gymnastics team, posted photos of Kabaeva during the event on Instagram on Thursday.
Prior to this, The former gymnast’s last public appearance was in December 2021, just months before Putin invaded Ukraine.
