The Beijing Olympics 2022 Opening Ceremony is set to be held on 4th February 2022 in the city of Zhangjiakou. Although the preliminaries will start two days before the official ceremony. A total of 91 countries are set to take part in the Beijing Winter Olympics, but a few countries are boycotting their participation. There will be 15 disciplines from 7 sports in the event.

Beijing Olympic organizers are attempting for the “Strongest Quarantine” measure ever and it is called the “Closed Loop” system, a bubble which is cut off from the whole city. The Beijing Olympics organizers are keeping up with the tradition of making condoms accessible to the athletes.
“All Olympic-related units will provide appropriate quantities of condoms for free at the appropriate time to people who’ve checked in to stay inside the loop” the organizers told ‘Reuters’ via e-mail
A few journalists who checked in the venue of the closed-loop found individually wrapped condoms in their rooms.
The athletes and all the personnel that arrive for the event have been strictly asked to follow the Covid-19 norms and maintain social distancing of up to two meters. They have been asked to keep the physical interactions like hugs, high-fives and handshakes to the minimum
The organizers previously announced that they would provide about 150,000 condoms to the people in the loop, keeping in mind that they are better kept safe till they reach home than use them in the Olympic Village.

Beijing Olympics complications:
The world is still fighting the Coronavirus Pandemic, with a new variant arriving every year and disrupting daily lives. Currently, a number of countries are suffering from the “Omicron” variant. With the growing number of cases in mind and considering its origination from ‘Wuhan’ in China, a number of countries are following a diplomatic boycott against China and sending their athletes to Beijing for the competition.
